Green Schools Flag Raising Ceremony 24th June

As you are aware this year our school worked towards the goal of attaining our third green flag - the water conservation flag. A hugely successful WATER ACTION DAY was held in November and subsequently our assessment was approved. This means that we are one of a very small number of schools with pupils as young as ours to receive our third green flag. We are really proud of this achievement.

To celebrate this achievement we had a flag raising ceremony on Thursday 24th of June. The children were congratulated for their achievement by having their faces painted, making "water headbands" and singing water songs. An Tánaiste and Minister of the Department of Education and Skills, Mary Coughlan attended, as did parents, members of the local press and local representatives. It was a very special day. We would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone for their support!
