On Friday 12th October, all four first classes went on a trip to Malahide Castle.

The four first classes got to be the first people to get a tour of the castle before it reopens after being closed for refurbishments.

All four classes got a guided tour of inside the castle, visiting the banqueting hall, the sitting room and the oak room.  The classes also got to see the new museum which tells the history of Malahide Castle.

In the lead-up to Halloween the children also enjoyed hearing about the castles ghosts – the White Lady and Puck!

Much fun was had in the new sensory area beside the gardens also, where the children explored the plants that grow in the castle grounds in Autumn, through engaging activities such as leaf rubbings, smelling and feeling leaves and berries and playing some of the interactive games.

It was a really great day and the boys and girls would like to thank the staff of Malahide Castle for so kindly inviting them.
