Mad Hatter's Cake Sale

When:         Friday, March 4th from 9:15a.m. to 1:15p.m.

Where:            In the School Hall

What to bring: All your baked or donated cakes, breads, scones, biscuits ........and LOTS OF BUNS please!

Theme:  The “Mad Hatter's Tea Party”.  Children (and parents!) can bring in their maddest looking hat. Make it yourself using recycled materials, or just bring your favourite! There will be a Prize for Best Hat in each Class.

What happens at the Cake Sale?

The children will be brought to the Hall at their allotted time (see below). Parents

are welcome to meet their kids in the Hall, and then stay on to have a chat over a

cup of tea or coffee. To prevent overcrowding, the children must return to their classrooms

with their teacher. Buggies are not allowed in the School Building and must be left outside.

What can be purchased by the children?

There will be a lot of variety, but to make things easy for the children, ‘Goody Cake Bags’ will be available to purchase at €1 each (5 in bag).  Members of the Parents Association will be on hand to assist the children. There is also our Guessing Competition which is always a favourite at €1 for 5 guesses (or 20 cents each). Raffle tickets will also be available to buy at 5 tickets for €1 for Senior Infants and First Class only.  And there are plenty of cakes for the parents to buy too!

What do I do now?

Start baking:  Bring all your goodies to the hall that morning. We will be collecting cakes in the hall from 8:30am.  If possible, drop them in before your child goes to class. We will also collect from the classes.

Labelling: Please label clearly any containers you want returned with child's name, teacher and class room number.  Remaining containers will be disposed of on Monday.

Special Dietary Requirements: A special table for items, e.g. gluten free, nut free, etc. will be on display so please mark this clearly on your cake if needed.

Novelty/Premium Cakes: If you feel your cake warrants a minimum price, please let us know.
